“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose” Romans 8:28.
Let me share with you a little inspiring story;
A king had a male servant who, in all circumstances always said to him; My king, do not be discouraged because everything God does is perfect, no mistake. One day, they went hunting as they always would and a wild animal attacked the king, the servant managed to kill the animal but couldn’t prevent his majesty from losing a finger. Furious and without showing gratitude, the king said; “if God was good, I wouldn’t have been attacked and lost one finger”.
The servant replied, “despite all these things, I can only tell you that God is good and everything He does is perfect, He is never wrong”. Outraged by the response, the king ordered the arrest of the servant. While being taken to prison, he told the king again, God is good and perfect. Another day, the king left alone for another hunt and was captured by savages who uses human beings for sacrifices.
On the altar, the savages found out that the king didn’t have one finger in place, he was released because he was considered not ‘complete’ to be offered to their gods. On his return to the palace, he ordered the release of his servant and said; “my friend, God was really good to me, I was almost killed but for lack of a single finger, I was let go. But I have a question; if God is so good, why did He allow me to put a mjust person like you in prison? His servant replied; “my king, if I had not been put in prison, I would have gone with you, and would have been sacrificed, because I have no missing finger”.
Everything God does is perfect, He is never wrong. Often we complain about life, and the negative things that happens, forgetting that everything happens for a purpose and the purpose is for our good. Romans 8:28 assures us that all things will certainly works for our good as long as we love God and we are not apart from His purpose.
The question is; do you love God? Do you love righteousness and Godly virtues? Do you love God’s Word and desire to fellowship with His Spirit? Are you open to His knowledge? 1 Corinthians 8:3 says if you truly love God, you will be open to His knowledge and truth. Are you called by His purpose? Do you fit into His righteous plans? His purpose is in Christ Jesus and He has called us into His purpose through the grace that is in Jesus- 2Timothy 1:9.
Remember whatsoever you are passing through now is but for a moment, sooner or later it will all fade away.” For our light afflictions, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory” 2Corinthians 4:17. This also assures us, that no matter how terrifying and evil the afflictions may be, no matter how fierce everything around us may seems, as long as we are on God’s side, they are all for our glory, they are all for our good.
Wake up each morning and say to every situation around you that ‘It all for my good’.
