GOD’S RIGHTEOUS ONES (2)

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who
knew no sin; that we might be made the
righteousness of God in him (2 Corinthians
5:21).
One of the truths that we as a ‘new-creation’ man should imbibe is that we have
the righteousness of Christ. The believer who was born again yesterday and the one who’s been born again forty years have the same righteousness. This righteousness is God’s righteousness which was imparted to your spirit as a gift: “…they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ. Therefore as by the offence of one judgement came
upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life” (Romans 5:17-18).
The moment you were born again, you received God’s own righteousness, His righteousness was imputed into your account. We’re now called His righteous ones. We’re as righteous as He is righteous. This is the reason no Christian can be more righteous than the other. We all received the same righteousness, and according to the Bible we received it as a gift.
For the one who is not born again, it’s no use trying to impress God with works of self-righteousness because the Bible says such “…righteousnesses are as filthy rags” (Isaiah 64:6). This is why He chose to give us His own righteousness. As a born again child of God, you have God’s righteousness and you’re as righteous as God is righteous. Accept this truth, and let it dominate your thinking and it’ll give you
confidence and boldness. Being conscious that you’re the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus gives you mastery over the devil and his accusations. It makes you a champion in life; the Bible declares that they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness, shall reign in life (Romans 5:17). This is how you should think and live.
Just knowing that you have been made the righteousness of God in Christ is not enough. You need to have a full understanding of what righteousness is and what it means to you as an individual believer. Many sincere Christians are living far below their privileges in Christ simply because they do not understand their place as children of God. Righteousness is one of the most vital areas in the Christian walk. Without a knowledge of righteousness, you will never obtain all that is yours in God.
The word translated righteousness literally means to be in right-standing. When a person receives Jesus as Lord of his life, he is made righteous. By being brought into rightstanding with God, every believer is given certain privileges or rights as God’s child. Some people confuse righteousness with holiness, but righteousness has nothing to do with the way you act. Holiness is your conduct; righteousness is what you are – the nature of God.
You didn’t come into right-standing with God by being good or acting right. It was faith in Jesus Christ and His redemptive work at Calvary that brought you into right-standing with God.
Developing what I call a “righteousness consciousness” will cause you to live an overcoming, victorious life. Jesus was in right-standing with the Father during His earthwalk and the results He obtained
were outstanding. As a child of God and joint-heir with Jesus, you should expect to receive the same results.
Spend time in God’s Word and find out for yourself the rights you have. Dig deep into His Words of Life and discover that you have been made His very righteousness.
Spend today thanking God for giving you His righteousness as a gift and keep confessing that you are inspired into the consciousness that you’re as righteous as Jesus is righteous.
